Warm-Up: Gentle Stretches
- Neck Stretch: Sit comfortably and gently tilt your head toward each shoulder, holding for 15 seconds on each side.
- Side Stretch: Stand tall, lift your arms overhead and lean to each side, hold for 20 seconds per side.
Yoga Poses for Stress Relief
1. Child’s Pose (Balasana)
Kneel on the floor, sit back on your heels, and stretch your arms forward, relaxing your forehead onto the mat. Hold for 1-2 minutes.
2. Cat-Cow Pose (Marjaryasana-Bitilasana)
- Start on all fours with your wrists aligned under your shoulders and knees under hips.
- Inhale and arch your back (cow pose), then exhale and round your back towards the ceiling (cat pose).
- Repeat this flow for 10 breaths.
3. Downward-Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana)
From all fours, lift your hips toward the ceiling and straighten your legs as much as your flexibility allows. Press evenly into your hands and feet. Hold for 1 minute.
4. Seated Forward Bend (Paschimottanasana)
Sit with your legs extended forward, flex your feet, and reach for your toes (use a strap if needed). Focus on lengthening your spine as you bend. Hold for 1-2 minutes.
5. Legs-Up-The-Wall Pose (Viparita Karani)
Lie on your back and slide your legs up the wall, creating a 90-degree angle between your upper body and legs. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing, holding for 5-10 minutes.
Cool Down: Breathing and Relaxation
- Deep Breathing: Sit or lie comfortably, close your eyes, and take deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. Continue for 3-5 minutes.
- Savasana: Lie flat on your back with your arms at your sides, palms facing up. Close your eyes and allow your body to fully relax for 5-10 minutes.
